Ashbocking is situated in Mid-Suffolk District Council in the heart of rural Suffolk and consists of a little over 100 houses.

Although set in the peace, quiet and safety of the beautiful Suffolk countryside, Ashbocking is just a few miles away from the stunning Suffolk coastline boasting the internationally important nature reserve at Orford Ness and rich wildlife of Dunwich Heath coastal centre and beach. Thorpeness, Woodbridge, Aldeburgh and Southwold are all nearby.

For music lovers Snape Maltings is only 25 minutes away. Here the composer Benjamin Britten,with his collaborators Peter Pears and Eric Crozier founded the Aldeburgh Music festival which features concerts and opera by classical artists from all over the globe.

The area offers a vast array of country pursuits including fishing, walking, horseriding and safe cycling for the whole family – the Suffolk Wildlife Trust has its headquarters in Ashbocking.

Local schools are situated in the surrounding area at Otley, Woodbridge, Debenham and Needham Market . The University Campus Suffolk at Otley offers an extensive range not only of full and part-time courses for the over 16s including foundation degrees, but also evening classes in a huge variety of topics including such diversity as golf, photography, garden design and welding !!

The nearest village store, post office and doctors surgery are in nearby Otley.
